About SDITE

Founded in 1930, the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) is a community of transportation professionals, serving as a gateway to knowledge and advancement through meetings, seminars and publications. The Southern District of the Institute of Transportation Engineers (SDITE) is one of ten regional subdivisions of the ITE which includes transportation engineering professionals in the states of Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia.

 
Southern District ITEThe Southern District of ITE (SDITE) represents nine southeastern states and is divided into the following eight local Sections at the State level. Each Section has an active membership base and holds regular meetings.

Deep South Section (representing Louisiana and Mississippi)
Georgia Section
Kentucky Section
North Carolina Section
South Carolina Section
Tennessee Section
Virginia Section

 
ITE

The Institute of Transportation Engineers is an international educational and scientific association of transportation professionals who are responsible for meeting mobility and safety needs. ITE facilitates the application of technology and scientific principles to research, planning, functional design, implementation, operation, policy development and management for any mode of transportation. Through its products and services, ITE promotes professional development of its members, supports and encourages education, stimulates research, develops public awareness programs and serves as a conduit for the exchange of professional information.

Founded in 1930, ITE is a community of transportation professionals, serving as a gateway to knowledge and advancement through meetings, seminars and publications and through its network of nearly 17,000 members working in more than 92 countries.

The 17 member International Board of Direction establishes policies for the operation of ITE.
