R.V. Moss passed away Friday, January 27, 2017.
R.V. Moss was a leader in the transportation profession in both his home state of North Carolina and in the Southern District. He was the Director of Transportation for the City of High Point from 1963 to 1993 and was inducted into the North Carolina Transportation Hall of Fame in 2008.
R.V. was President of the Southern District’s predecessor, the Southern Section in 1980-81. He received the Marble J. Hensley Award and Herman Hoose Distinguished Service Award from the Southern District ITE. R.V. was a founder of the North Carolina Division of the Institute of Traffic Engineers (now NCSITE). NCSITE created and named and award, the R.V. Moss Lifetime Service Award, after him in 1992.
