Craig Hanchey
Craig Hanchey was appointed as the first Southern District Administrator in 2010 and has served in that role since. He is a Senior Vice President for Neel-Schaffer, Inc. in Nashville, Tennessee. He serves the Area Manager for the firm’s eastern region. He previously was employed as the City Traffic Engineer for the City of Jackson, Mississippi and Traffic Engineer for Hamilton County, Tennessee. Craig is a registered Professional Engineer in ten states and is certified as a Professional Traffic Operations Engineer by ITE. His professional emphasis has been on traffic operations and highway safety.
Craig is a Fellow member of ITE. He began his involvement with ITE in graduate school where he served a student chapter officer. He is a Past President and former Section Representative of the Deep South and Tennessee Sections of ITE. He is most recently a Past President of the Southern District. He is a recipient of SDITE’s Joseph Thomas Young Member Award and the Marble Hensley Outstanding Individual Activity Award. Craig received his B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from LSU and his M.S. degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Tennessee.
